03-04, Nov 2016, Day 3 & 4, Vietnam

Halong Bay, a breathtaking cluster of islands in Quang Ninh province, lies about four hours’ drive from Hanoi. We had booked a two-night, one-day tour on the V-Spirit cruise. The food was excellent, and the beauty that unfolded as we entered the colony of islands around us was mesmerizing. The scenery was truly breathtaking — everywhere we looked, small islands rose gracefully from the emerald waters.

Our first stop was the Sung Sot Cave, one of the largest and most magnificent caves in Halong Bay. Inside, a profusion of stalactites and stalagmites can be seen all over the caves.

Next, we visited Ti Top Island. Abigail loved playing in the water, so I left her and my wife enjoying the beach while I climbed the mountain to get a bird’s-eye view of the bay. The climb was steep and left me breathless, but once I reached the top, the view was worth every step. I was captivated by the tranquility and the serenity all around. The beauty was beyond description.

The following morning, after breakfast, we went kayaking. We paddled through islets for about an hour. It was fun.

Living things both small and great.

You great sea creatures and all the depths;
8 Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
