3rd Feb 2018, Sermon by Pastor John Joseph at Jesus Calls, Singapore
Every individual has desires, irrespective of nationality, race, religion, caste, color. All have desires, supplications, prayer requests, expectation. We put so much effort to fulfill our desires.
How to receive the desires of your heart?
Delight yourself in the Lord, no matter whatever the circumstances, problem, situations. Do not delight yourself in the vanities of the world or the lust of the world.
Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word which proceeds from the Word of God. Every Word of God has power, life, and authority. No matter how great your circumstances, delight in the Word. Every word will instruct you, guide you.
Nehemiah 8:10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
The strength of the believer is not in the money, intellectual knowledge, or talent but in the joy of the Lord, listening to the Word of God.
Psalm 37:10 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:
Commit your ways to the Lord, then you will see God will fulfill all the desires of your heart. Without committing your ways, you cannot see the fulfillment of desires. If God has to fulfill your requests, totally surrender your heart, soul, and mind.
Job 31:1 “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.
When your eyes are pure and clean, your whole life will be clean. If your eye is not good, your character will be a problem. The eye is the door to the soul, spirit, and mind.
When my sight is not clear, my life is not clear. Your eye is the door to your heart. When you do not take care, your life will suffer. Job departed always from evil. He was an upright man. He lived a life of righteousness.
If God has to fulfill your prayer requests, submit all the ways of your life, eyes, and sight. You and I have to make a covenant. Make the covenant with the whole body. Submit the ways of your heart, mind, and utterance. Put your trust in the Lord alone.
Philippians 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.
Abraham trusted in God alone. At the age of 100, God fulfilled promises. Every Word of God has a condition. Rejoice in the Word of God. Commit all your ways to God. And finally, trust in Jesus alone.
At the end of the service, he prayed for all individuals. Praise God for the beautiful time!
