Thomas Diary - A walk through my life

5-August-2012, Sunday

Today, Geenu and I, attended City Harvest Church at Suntec city, Singapore, for 10 am worship service. It was a beautiful time to be in the Presence of God, worshiping together with God’s people and praying for one another.

After praise and worship, Pastor Kong Hee spoke on “Encounters”. He quoted examples of Moses, Samuel, Isaiah, Disciples, and other saints from Bible who had real life encounters with God at some point in their lives. Different people had different encounters with God. It’s not enough just to have an encounter but the key lies in how you follow through the encounter and it’s the follow up that will change your life.

Israelites knew the acts of God but they forgot His ways and did not follow up. Psalm 106 depicts how the Israelites who witnessed Gods’ mighty acts soon forgot Him and worshiped idols.

Psalm 106

We have sinned with our fathers,
We have committed iniquity,
We have done wickedly.
 Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders;
They did not remember the multitude of Your mercies,
But rebelled by the sea—the Red Sea.

In Acts 9:3-6 Saul had real life encounter with Jesus and he followed through his encounter    by:

  1. Building his own altar of Consecration.
  2. Hearing, Reading, Meditating, Studying and Applying the Word of God.
  3. Building Altar of Prayer – After encounter, he prayed continuously.
  • Prayer connects us to God.
  • Praying in tongues edifies us.
  • Prayer brings us into the Presence of God.
  • Prayer enables us to surrender and bring us into perfect will of God.

It was only after 14 years of his first encounter, Paul started his ministry. He followed up his encounter by surrendering his life completely to Jesus Christ, by fellowship with saints, by praying and reading the Word of God daily.

Pastor Kong Hee quoted an example of how God used Kathryn Kuhlman mightily in the healing ministry when she surrendered her life completely to Jesus and renounced her former life. Later Pastor Kong invited people who want to consecrate and re-dedicate their lives to Jesus like Kathryn Kuhlman. Thousands of people came forward at his invitation. And people prayed corporately. It was a wonderful sight.

After service, we went to Andersen’s of Denmark at Suntec city, and had delicious Chocolate Brownie and Ice Creams. Then, we went to Carrefour, did some shopping and later had lunch at Komlas inside there.

After lunch, we headed to Malayalam fellowship at Emmanuel Assemblies of God, Upper East Cost Road by taking Bus 16 opposite Suntec city. The sermon was by Pastor Raju Vallamkulam, from Kerala, India. The service started at 3 pm with beautiful Praise and Worship by Geogy brother. Later Pastor Raju Vallamkulam shared his brief testimony about how he accepted Jesus as His personal Savior while he was in Orthodox tradition.

He gave his message about why Jesus came to planet earth.

1 John 3:8

The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

The objective of Satan is to to steal, kill and destroy. Bible equates Satan to thief.

John 10:10

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Pastor Raju quoted Luke 13:10 about a certain Jewish woman who was bounded by Satan and couldn’t stand straight, received healing and deliverance from Jesus while she was in Synagogue. Similarly, today there are Christians who are bounded by devil through sickness and disease and need healing touch from Jesus. He prayed corporately for the people and laid hands on the people who needed deliverance. There was mighty anointing during the prayer. It was a wonderful sight to see people receiving God’s mighty anointing.

Later after service, we boarded bus 16 to Bedok interchange and then took MRT back home.

Alleluia for a wonderful weekend.
