John 14:22-23
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Why didn’t Jesus appear to Pontius Pilate or Pharisee? The method of God is human beings.
Messenger becomes the message. You cannot make a a disciple unless you model discipleship. Believer becomes personified through the character of Christ. Word remains Word unless it becomes flesh. The method of God is People.
Messenger is the message. Messenger must communicate through personality. Words have to be accompanied through character.
John 14:3-6
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus says I am the truth and the Living way, the way is through Person. The message of Christ is communicated through person.
Genesis 12:1-3
12 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Church is the only society for the benefits of its non-members.
Isaiah 19:23-25
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:25 Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
From Revelation 21, we conclude that God is not taking us to mono culture but multi culture. Culture is interplay of human creation with God’s creation. But because of fall, all culture are fallen. Through the Cross of Jesus, all cultures can be redeemed.
Colossians 1:19
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Galatians 4:4
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
John 14:8
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
When people make idols, they want to see God in physical form. Idolatry is wrong way of fulfilling right longing. Jesus is the image of God. Holy Spirit brings conviction. We should be witness.
