Jeremiah 1: 5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Peter struggled to catch fish the whole night, but God’s dream for him was greater than he being just a fisherman.
You can know more about God when you become zero.
If God has a purpose for your life, you may have to go through many difficulties but He will be with you.
When you feel the emptiness in life that’s when you will have an encounter with God.
Every emptiness/disappointment is the time that God has an appointment with you. Listen to God’s voice.
If Peter had caught at least some fish, he wouldn’t have had the encounter with God.
Do what God tells you.
Jesus tells Peter to lend his boat. Peter obeys.
Peter had a unique call. God has seen him for great work. He wants to give greater responsibility.
Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it
John 21: 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
Peter has to overcome test. He can only overcome by prayer.
David was sent to the forest to take care of the sheep. He was lonely. That was for training.
Although David was anointed in the beginning, he didn’t have an opportunity.
Before God gives you a higher responsibility, he will first give you the responsibility of a servanthood. David obeyed his father.
If you can be faithful in the little things, God will raise you higher.
1 Samuel 17:46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
