Thomas Diary - A walk through my life

Hebrews 4:15-16

15 For we do not have a High Priest, who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Pastor Roy Markara highlighted the nature of high priest according to the OT and NT. The Bible reveals the divine nature and divine personality of God. In the book of Samuel, we see, Hannah poured her heart into the Presence of God. She prayed with groaning. No one understood. Some Samuels are born after much groaning and pain. They would never know what you’re going through until you tell them.

Bible reveals divine character of God. Knowing a person means knowing his character. In the same way, knowing God is understanding His character.

There are three types of challenges in life:

  • Water – You can manage  yourself
  • River – You need help of somebody
  • Fire – When you’re on fire, nobody can assist you
Gideon complained if the Lord is with us, why has this happened to us? Job said, have I not supported widows and poor? Then why this misery? John the baptist was put in prison, Lazarus died.

Weakness and sin are neighbors. When you’re weak, you’re on the borderline. We all have our weakness. We need to highly careful. Let us come boldly to the feet of Grace. The safest place is in the Presence of God.  The most dangerous place is when you walk away from the Presence of God.  Jesus took our infirmities upon himself and went to the most Holy place. There are two aspects of weakness – infirmity in the body, OR soul/mind related.

Genesis 4:5-7 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. 6 So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
