On 12-Jan-2014, Sunday, I attended the City Harvest Church service at the Suntec Convention Center. The service started at 10 am with beautiful praise and worship. The Presence of God was beautiful during worship.
After Praise and Worship, Pastor Kong shared the message “The Blessing of Abraham” in continuation to the last week’s sermon.
Genesis 14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said:“Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.
Hebrews 7:3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
Galatians 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”[a]), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Jesus died on the cross not only for our salvation but also to make a covenant of blessing for us, said Pastor Kong.
Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
“Impartation comes from understanding”
James 2: 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[a] And he was called the friend of God.
3 things about Abraham:
- Abraham had a tremendous Faith in God. Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Romans 4:19-21 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
- Abraham became a Friend of God.
- Abraham was highly favored. The Favor of God doesn’t mean you will not have challenges. Favor means to be highly regarded, to be shown excessive kindness, given preferred treatment. 1 Samuel 2:26 And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the Lord and men. Luke 1:30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Acts 2:46-47 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church[a] daily those who were being saved.
After the sermon, we were served Holy Communion. After the Holy Communion, Pastor Kong led the congregation into worship and prayed for God’s blessings and favor upon the Church. People held hands and prayed for one another. The anointing was awesome during that time. Finally the service ended with beautiful praise.
Praise God for a wonderful time 🙂
