Thomas Diary - A walk through my life

On 26th Jan 2014, we attended the City Harvest Church service at the Suntec Convention Center. We were right on time for the 10 am service. The service started with beautiful Praise and Worship songs. The Presence of God was beautiful during worship.

After praise and worship, pastor Phil Pringle shared the sermon “Unshakable Church“.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-2

2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Ephesians 4:14

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

3 steps for unshakable foundation

  1. Dig deep

    Luke 6: 47-48  Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

     Preparation takes a long before you plunge on to do something.

  2. Commitment to a relentless routine

    Relentless routine will give you a breakthrough.  1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.Luke 4:16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

    Develop new habits in life. The new habits build character.

  3. Make Jesus the cornerstone of you and the Church.Ephesians 4:13-14 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

After the sermon, Pastor Phil invited people who wanted to make Jesus as their Savior to step forward. People responded to the altar call and prayed the sinner’s prayer. Finally the service ended with a beautiful praise song “I am a friend of God”.

Praise God for an awesome time
