Last Sunday was an exciting day at City Harvest Church as the guest speaker, Canon J John from UK, visited CHC for the very first time.
At 9: 10 am, we boarded the bus and reached Suntec Convention Center at 9: 45am. We sat in the upper middle row, where the view is superb. The service started at 10 am with beautiful praise and thanksgiving and finally people were led into worship. It is awesome when you experience the glorious Presence and power of God. After wards, Canon J John, was welcomed on stage. He started off with his message titled ” What Have you done with Jesus’ invitation?
He spoke about Christianity in a new dimension. According to him, Christianity is like an invitation to God’s Kingdom, similar to a wedding invitation. When you receive a wedding invitation, you see RSVP at the bottom of the card, so you respond by writing “Thank You for invitation, I will attend”. It’s God’s desire that everyone should be saved and not a single soul be lost. So God is personally inviting everyone to come to His Kingdom through Jesus Christ, His Son.
If we were to be invited by President, we would be so excited then how much more should we be excited when God, the Creator, King of kings and the Lord of lords invites us to His Kingdom.
Matthew 11:28
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
After explaining what Christianity is about, he summarized the Bible into 3 statements.
- Forgiveness from Past
- New life in the Present
- Hope in the Future
At the altar call, many people responded to his invitation and gave their life to Jesus.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
