Thomas Diary - A walk through my life

On the 20th of July, 2013, Saturday, I attended the second session, led by Pastor Raison Thomas, organized by the City Revival Ministries, at the Emmanuel Assemblies of God, Upper East Coast Road, Singapore.

After beautiful Praise and Worship, he shared the Word of God, in continuation to the previous day sermon, quoting Hebrews 12:1-2  Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Christian life is all about knowing Jesus personally. It is not easy to be a Christian. It is easy to be a Marthomite or a Jacobite or a Pentecostal, but it is not easy to be a Christian said Raison Thomas. He asked the audience how much you know Jesus personally? Christian life is a Revelation. Apostle Paul wanted to know only Christ, he was not interested to know anything else.

Philippians 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

Once you know Christ, you wouldn’t like any other taste said Raison Thomas. Paul rose to a higher dimension continuously. The more you know Christ, the more powerful your Christian life will be. When you realize Christ is the head and we are His body, this unity is what is meant to be a Christian.

In the Bible, we read Jews taking pride about Jerusalem Temple, boasting about Moses’s law, and Abraham being their Father. But they were ignorant that Abraham was led by God himself. Abraham ate with Son of God. Jesus said Before Abraham was, I am. All the saints and the Law focused on Jesus instead of themselves. In the book of Acts, it took great courage for Jews to come out of their tradition and follow Christ. They suffered severe persecution and were questioned for following Christ by the religious leaders.

He then shared the sermon from Hebrews 1.

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself[a] purged our[b] sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

5 For to which of the angels did He ever say:

“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You”?[c]

And again:

“I will be to Him a Father,
And He shall be to Me a Son”?[d]

6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:

“Let all the angels of God worship Him.”[e]

7 And of the angels He says:

“Who makes His angels spirits
And His ministers a flame of fire.”[f]

8 But to the Son He says:

“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”[g]

10 And:

“You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11 They will perish, but You remain;
And they will all grow old like a garment;
12 Like a cloak You will fold them up,
And they will be changed.
But You are the same,
And Your years will not fail.”[h]

13 But to which of the angels has He ever said:

“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?[i]

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

The anointing of God was powerful as he preached. After the sermon, there was a mighty God Anointed Praise and Worship. Praise God for a wonderful time 🙂
